You all heard about one institute called IIPM !? Heard about the pony tail clad Arindham Choudry? Then please read the Businessworld dated 31st October to know how true their tall claims! This is an eye opener for any student/parent looking for Good education from the so called alternative Business Schools ( to IIMs!). I am leaving to my native place to celebrate Diwali! Shocked by Delhi Blasts ... still life goes on always without bothering those small minded terrorists! Wish you all a happy "festival of Lights".

I had to fly to Hyderabad on Friday on a business call. Just landed in Coimbatore. Will continue my Mumbai Musings along with my Hyderabad Diaries!

I have boarded the Kurla train at Coimbatore around 5.00 am. I was bit sleepy and went to sleep in a few minutes. When I woke up our train was traveling among hills ( nearing Hosur ) . It was a pleasent morning with in that mountain terrain. We reached Bangalore in the afternoon. The whole station is full of Butterflies! We could see the housing projects coming up in many places. People have talked about the traffic Jams. When I was working in BPL in 1999 it was a calm and gentle city. Call centers and IT parks have changed it into a busy metropolis.

Then we entered Andharapradesh area. All dry lands. Nothing much to see. Next day morning we reached Pune. I took lunch in one finest restaurent ( Coloseum !? ) in Pune railway station.... It is very neat and one can get good south indian dishes. I took one Thali Meals. Train started around 8.45 towards Mumbai. We reached Lonavala in a couple of hours. It is like our coonoor. Very nice climate. We reached Lokamanya Tilak Station around 2.00 pm. Heads heads and heads everwhere! ... will continue my Mumbai Musings tomorrow....

I stumbled up on an interesting blog ... of one Ms Viji. I too got a few of these experiences while getting my passport!

Last Two days (Monday & Tuesday) I was practically suffering . The reason is I was in mumbai in those days. Though I stayed in Dadar , I have to travel to many locations and Taxi'x can not help you there if you want to reach any place in time. The best mode is Electric Trains. They stopped just 13 seconds in one station and the whole crowd has to be in and out! Everywhere heads heads and more heads... each along with their couple of legs! Tuesday night I could escape from the crowd by VOLVO bus to Pune! Will write more on my Mumbai experiences in a few days time! Now I am relaxing in cool Pune !

நடுப்பக்கத்து நாயகிகளையும் கிசுகிசுக்களையும் கொச்சையான ஆபாசச் செய்திகளையும் திரைப்படங்களையும் பெரிதும் நம்பிப் பிழைப்பு நடத்தும் பெரும்பாலான பத்திரிகைகளும் தொலைக்காட்சிகளும் அவ்வப்போது பொது ஒழுக்கத்தை (முக்கியமாகத் தமிழ்ப் பெண்களின் ஒழுக்கத்தை) காப்பாற்றத் தடாலடி நடவடிக்கைகளில் இறங்குவது வேடிக்கை.

சமீபத்தில் 'இந்தியா டுடே' பத்திரிகை நடத்திய ஒரு கருத்துக் கணிப்பில் நடிகை குஷ்பு சொன்ன கருத்துகளுக்கு எதிராக ஒரு இயக்கமே நடந்தது. எல்லாவற்றையும் விடக் கொடுமை என்னவென்றால், குஷ்புவை விமர்சித்த ஒரு பெண், 'குஷ்புவே சொல்லிவிட்டார், நாம் கெட்டுப்போனால் என்ன என்று நினைத்து இளம் தமிழ்ப் பெண்கள் கெட்டுப்போய்விடுவார்கள்' என்று கூறியதுதான்.

குஷ்புவுக்குக் கோயில் கட்டியதுபோய், இப்போது அவரை நாம் திருவள்ளுவர், பெரியார், ஜிட்டு கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி அளவுக்கு உயர்த்தியிருப்பதுதான் சுவாரஸ்யம். பல பத்திரிகைகளும் ஊடகங்களும் ரீட்டாவை விட இதற்கு அதிகமுக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்துக் கர்ஜித்தன.

இத்தனை நாள் பாலியல் வன்முறைகள், வரதட்சிணை எரிப்புகள், சிசு வதை என்று பல பெண்களின் பிரச்சினைகளின் ஊடே ஆழ்ந்த நித்திரையில் இருந்த சில அமைப்புகள் இப்போது கையில் துடைப்பம், செருப்பு சகிதம் பொங்கி எழுந்திருக்கின்றன.

திருமாவளவனின் எத்தனையோ முக்கியமான போராட்டங்களைக் கண்டுகொள்ளாத ஊடகங்கள் இப்போது போட்டி போட்டு அவரை முக்கியத்துவப்படுத்துகின்றன. 'கற்பு என்பதே ஒரு இந்துத்துவக் கருத்து' என்ற அவரது கருத்து எப்போது மாறியது என்பதும் தெரியவில்லை.

ஒழுக்கம் என்பது ஒரு புதிய வியாபார உத்தி என்பதைப் புரிந்துகொண்ட இன்னொரு பத்திரிகை, சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒரு ஐந்து நட்சத்திர ஓட்டலில் புகுந்து அங்கு நடந்த ஒரு பார்ட்டியில் மது அருந்திக்கொண்டும் நடனம் ஆடிக்கொண்டும் இருந்த பெண்களைப் படம்பிடித்துப் போட்டு சமத்துவம் என்பது இதுதானா என்று கேள்வி கேட்டிருக்கிறது.

மேற்கத்திய உடையணிந்த, மது அருந்தும், புகைபிடிக்கும் பெண்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் பெண் விடுதலை பற்றிய பிரக்ஞை இருக்கும் என்பதுகூட ஒரு குறைக் கண்ணோட்டம்தான். பெண்ணியத்தைக் கட்டுடைக்கும் முயற்சிதான். குடிப்பது தவறு என்று கூறும் காந்தியவாதிகளாக இவர்கள் மாறிவிட்டார்கள் என்றால், அருகில் நிற்கும் ஆண்களின் மீது இவர்களது ஒழுக்கக் கரிசனப் பார்வை ஏன் விழவில்லை?

உடைக் கட்டுப்பாடுகள் பற்றிய கட்டுரைகள் எழுதப்படும்போதும் அதில் அடிச் சரடாய் அந்தக் கட்டுப்பாடுகளுக்கு ஒரு ஆதரவுக் குரல் தொனிப்பதைக் காண முடிகிறது.

இவர்கள் வெளியிடும் கருத்துக்களில் இவர்களுக்கு உண்மையிலேயே உடன்பாடு உள்ளதா? உள்ளது என்றால் இவர்கள் வெளியிடும் பல படங்களில், செய்திகளில் இவர்கள் பாதுகாக்கப் பாடுபடும் பண்பாடு உடைபடுவதை அறியாதவர்களா இவர்கள்? அல்லது இவர்கள் நடத்துவது வெறும் 'பல்பொருள் அங்காடிகள்'தானா?

உலகச் செய்திகள், விளையாட்டுச் செய்திகள், கவர்ச்சி, கிளுகிளுப்பு, கற்பு எல்லாம் கிடைக்கும். உனக்கு எது வேண்டுமோ அதை எடுத்துக்கொள் என்பதுதான் இவர்களின் அடிப்படைத் தத்துவமா?

Like alchemy to Chemistry Phlogiston is to Physics. Though disproved now, this theory was supported by big names of the 18th Century. I read a small info on net today on this interesting fact...

phlogiston theory , hypothesis regarding combustion. The theory, advanced by J. J. Becher late in the 17th cent. and extended and popularized by G. E. Stahl, postulates that in all flammable materials there is present phlogiston, a substance without color, odor, taste, or weight that is given off in burning. “Phlogisticated” substances are those that contain phlogiston and, on being burned, are “dephlogisticated.” The ash of the burned material is held to be the true material. The theory received strong and wide support throughout a large part of the 18th cent. until it was refuted by the work of A. L. Lavoisier, who revealed the true nature of combustion. Joseph Priestley, however, defended the theory throughout his lifetime. Henry Cavendish remained doubtful, but most other chemists of the period, including C. L. Berthollet, rejected it.

So rationalism in science ( and also in anything like Religion, Philosophy ) is to be taught to our own students. Let them doubt first! Never discourage them as Doubting Thomas!!

Proud? .... Yes! Because I am living in a city where its own citizens are trying their level best to restore the river Noyyal ! Today thousands of youths and elders are taking a noyaal Yathra. Siruthuli has organised this program and I am also going to attend the "Kootanchoru" program ( Kongu naadu's traditional  food items  will be served) organised by the Annapoorna Group at the above Noyaal Yatra Ending Function in VOC park.
